Elevator Pitch No. 3- Rachel Mead

The comments I received on my last pitch were all very positive. I did not come across any comments I believed were wrong or not useful. I think the feedback was all important and encouraging, giving me confidence that I could actually start this business. I still added more information in this pitch on how I would obtain the funds to pay for the students using my program. I hope that this pitch is even more direct and gets my message across.

  1. Rachel,

I LOVE this idea. Many of us have centered our ideas around how we can build a business to create profit for ourselves. You've centered your idea around not only the benefit of others but the community. My question to you would be, how would that funding cover paying our students, (there will certainly be an overflow of students who would LOVE to get paid), and still be able to pay for the 'non-profits' overhead? I think you have a great core concept. Good luck!

  2. Hey Rachel,

This is probably one of the best business ideas I've heard . I love it because like many at UF, I'm constantly studying and would feel like adding a job on top of my workload would kill me. Getting paid to work would be the perfect job for me and by the many hours I would be there would be a plus. Check out my post http://jalekatircioglu.blogspot.com/2016/03/elevator-pitch-no-3.html

  3. That's an awesome idea and I would definitely help finding donations to fund it or do whatever is needed to help it along. It's a great idea to help actual education go on in schools and although it could be manipulated by kids i feel the benefits far outweigh the potential loses. Solid idea, much room to change and grow as well. good luck.

  4. Hi Rachel,
I think you have a unique idea! It’s true that it is almost impossible to keep a high GPA while also having a job at the same time. I believe that your idea is great but I think you will struggle with the following. How are you going to pay the students? What is your business getting in exchange of the students studying in your rooms? How would you deal with your costs? I think that all those aspects should be taken in consideration for your business plan. All in all, I think your idea is unique and that if it comes to reality, it would be an extremely helpful and highly demanded resource available for students.
Here is my post and let me know what you think about it: http://alejandroentrepreneurship.blogspot.com/2016/03/the-gator-spotter-elevator-pitch-3.html
